Though more expensive than some, in particular shop branded, antiseptic creams, it is definitely worth paying more for Savlon. Savlon cream is very effective I find at treating cuts and I find that it is actually even helpful to some extent for eczema should you find yourself without any hydrocortisone cream.

Savlon is advertised as a non greasy cream, and this is fully justified as I never find that I cannot get any excess cream off my fingers using anything more than a tissue. Savlon comes in several sizes which is also useful, particularly if you only need small tube to take in a first aid kit for example.

The only annoying thing with Savlon is that despite being perhaps the most recognised brand of antiseptic cream, they have not put any time into creating a tube in which you can get all the cream out of. I have found a good way to get all of the cream out of the end of a pack however which is to cut off one of the corners- it surprising how cream you can still get out when no more will come through the main nozzle.

Summary: Worth the extra money
