I was brought up using 'Savlon' for all my scraps and cuts so you stick with what you know and what is effective :)

Made by Norvis Consumer Health in England this antiseptic cream has been around for years and years...

The substance is sold in famous blue tubes with an icon of a family on the front in pink and cones with a white screw on lid. There are many different sizes of Savlon to choose from but I am reviewing the 30g size which cost around a pound.

The Savlon ingredients include the active Cetrimide 0.5 % Chlorexihide Gluconate 0.1% plus other additives like liquid paraffin and purified water to make a white semi-solid substance that is quickly absorbed into the skin.

The main thing about Savlon is that it doesn't sting unlike the horrible smelling Germaline and it is soft and effective giving a kind coating of bacteria fighting cream to help the body's natural healing process.

It has many uses such as stings, sunburn, soreness and redness, burns and to prevent infection while the soreness is healing as it cleans the wound.

Simply apply a small amount and spread it over the affected area with clean hands and cover id necessary until you feel the area is safe to be exposed to air again.

I usually apply several times a day until I can see an improvement in my soreness, and have even used it on my eczema when I have ran out if E45.

One of the best tings I have ever used Savlon for is blisters where new shoes have rubbed the back of my heels and toes, I put a bit of this one and then a plaster and it really helps.

Re-apply after you have washed the area and it really helps skin heal :)

Savlon smells pleasant and moisturises really sore skin really well, the antiseptic really works and it's a must-have a home. Five stars from me, would be without it!
