Savlon Antiseptic Cream
Description: Aimed for use to cleanse and help prevent infection of cuts, grazes, bites, stings, minor burns and scalds, spots, minor sunburn and chapped skin.
I bought a 30g tube of this antiseptic cream from my local Poundland, which (surprisingly enough!) cost me just £1. Those who have read my earlier reviews will know that I am a huge fan of Poundland, and it is a great place to pick up bargains on everyday items such as Savlon, which I always have a tube of in the house.
The description above explains what this cream can be used on. I find it invaluable for the little cuts, burns etc that we all get working in the kitchen, garden etc. Savlon seems to cool the stinging pain and also provides an antiseptic to prevent against germs and infection. It has a nice, clean antiseptic smell which isn't overpowering so you can apply it without smelling of it for the rest of the day!
It comes in a white tube with a blue background and the name in big white letters. You are likely to find it in most supermarkets and chemists, in a blue box.
One of the best things about this cream is the fact that it is a really smooth consistency which applies easily and absorbs fast. It feels like it is helping almost as soon as it is applied.
Active Ingredients: Cetrimide 0.5% w/w & Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.1% w/w. Also contains: cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, methylhydroxybenzoate, propylhydroxybenzoate, perfume & purified water
Mrs Assasin gets through loads of this too as she has quite sensitive skin. So when she shaves her legs, she says that it can be a little painful and red afterwards. All she does is apply this cream immediately afterwards (just a little and smooth in) and she never has any irritation.
I definitely recommend this cream, it is great for all the family for those everyday injuries, in my opinion, it is a must for every bathroom cabinet!
Summary: Every home should have some!
