Savlon Antiseptic Cream has been around for years and we have used it in our house on us both as well as our child. It has remarkable healing properties in my opinion, and we have used it from everything from bites to nettle rash as it calms and reduces irritation.

One 40g tube costs about £1 or less, depending on where you shop. The cream is white and quite thick in consistency and a little does go a long way I always find.

With insect bites we apply to the affected area after washing carefully and rub in gently. This healing cream begins to work very quickly at calming the affected area and reduces redness and itching and irritation.

We keep ours in the fridge at home so it feels colder when applied to irritated skin and we always take a tube on holiday in case one of us is bitten, as we usually are.

The smell is pleasant and fresh and reminds me of a hospital in its clinical freshness. It does not have a perfume as such, more of a fresh aroma which is a little difficult to describe unless you have smelled it yourself.

Its great for kiddie rashes (and adults) and as it has antiseptic properties it is a necessary first aid requiste I think everyone should have in the medicine cupboard at home.

Widley available in most supermarkets and chemists and larger tubes are available at a more economical cost.
