I have been suffering with a persistent sore throat for several weeks now and regular Strepsils have not had a very positive effect in terms of clearing it up. In desperation, I picked up a packet of these Strepsils Extra lozenges in the hope that a stronger option would do the trick. If you have never taken Strepsils before, they contain antiseptic to fight against the infection that led to the sore throat in the first place and another ingredient to reduce the pain. Strepsils Extra contain antiseptic too, and an anaesthetic to reduce the discomfort. This double action claims to treat the infection whilst making things a bit more bearable. In ... Buying medicine for a sore throat is never usually pleasant, simply because of the way you feel at the time. Unfortunately, unless you're incredibly lucky, chances are it's a purchase you're going to have to make at least once annually. It's also kinda important, because you want the best available, just to make the tearing pain go away. Recently, it seemed it was my turn to feel the full force of the annual cold / sore throat, so I popped out in search of something to cure the agony. The nearest store didn't have any Soothers, my usual port of call. Partially due to the pain, and partially due to my lack of patience, I decided to try something else, and ended ... I've had a niggly sore throat for a few days and yesterday it finally got bad enough for me to give in and buy something for it. Asking for strepsils, I got presented with a packet of strepsils extra in blackcurrant flavour. They are designed to ease the pain of a sore throat. In the past I have tried not to use throat sweets because I find they dull the pain whilst sucking them as the anaesthetic properties work at this time, but the pain relief doesn't last very long. Strepsils extra are marketed to have a double action in them to relieve the pain with the anaesthetic and then they have antiseptic in them to fight the bacteria and infections that ... If I go anywhere near a university or college in the autumn, I seem to emerge with freshers' flu. It happened every single year that I was a student, and now I work in a university the inevitable has happened again - no sooner is it October than I have the latest bug doing the rounds. This particular one came on very quickly; I went from feeling fine at 4pm to being barely unable to swallow by the time I went to bed that evening. Having suffered a string of throat infections during my teens that led to the threat of having tonsils out, my first reaction when I feel a sore throat coming on is to reach for a mirror and a maglite to check for the telltale white spots on the ... *****Introduction***** I have been suffering with cold and flu like symptoms for weeks now, but I can't seem to shake it off and i have been suffering with a very dry but itchy throat, that is now stopping me eating as it hurts every time I swollow. Today it became unbearable so i headed to Asda to try and find something to ease it off a bit, after browsing the medicine counter I opted for these Strepsils extra. *****The Strepsils***** Strepsils have been around for many years, but this is the first time I have seen these strepsils extra throat sweets.
