It is pretty easy to pick up a summer cold, especially this year when summer is so damn cold and no surprises but the minute I returned from holiday I was struck down with a cold that had a particularly nasty sore throat with it and also a tickly cough that seemed to also reside in my throat making it very uncomfortable indeed.

You get 36 lozenges in each packet of Strepsils Honey and Lemon flavour and they cost me £3.29. They are in strips of 12 and each one is individually wrapped in its own foil strip that you press the lozenge through to access it. They have a rich lemony flavour which is rather pleasant and not at all like washing liquid that some similar products seem to taste of (not that I make a habit of consuming washing liquid), I could not really detect any of the honey flavour at all as the lemon tends to dominate. They take a while and a fair bit of sucking before they are completely gone, I resist the urge to crunch them up as I find the longer they are in my mouth the better the results and the more relief they provide.

They are very effective at providing relief for a sore throat, they numb the pain and also the saliva created helps to give some pain relief as well, in addition I found them to be very effective at getting rid of the tickly cough which really made a difference to my throat. It is recommended that you do not take more than twelve in a 24 hour period.

I have found these to be more effective than some of the generic brands for sale however the downside is that they are more expensive.
