They are aimed at easing the throat and killing any infection as mentioned in the paragraph above and the active ingredients in these powerful pellets are: 2,4-Dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.2mg Amylmetacresol 0.6mg Oh and some good old Vitamin C. I have no idea what those active ingredients are (apart from Vit C)but on some rare off chance you have an allergy to them then best avoid. How to take~ There's no...more

Strepsils Honey and Lemon I have to tell you that it's a very long time since I had a proper cold. Usually, when I feel the first tinglings of a cold or the lung rumbling of a cough, I hit the Echinachea tincture, the garlic capsules and make a large pan of what our family has always called Milk Tattie Soup. Scarily easy and incredibly effective, I will share this recipe with you at the end of the review. I am, you see, very keen on herbal, natural remedies for coughs, colds and such, and because of this, tend to stay well clear of pharmacy shelves when those first sensations of "there be a cold approaching, there be!!" creep over me! ...  Read the complete review

"Ahhhh!" Come on, you can do better than that. I've got a very sore throat and a croaky voice and yes, I do know it's summer. So a little more sympathy please. All my BoyFriend says is that I sound very earthy and sexy - huh! But when I suggest we should play doctors and patients, and ask him if he wants to listen to my chest, he says, "Oh no! I might catch it!" "Ahhhhhhhhhh!" That's a little better. So what do you do when you have a sore throat? I sent BF out for something to make me feel better and he came back with TCP and Strepsils. I'm surprised he didn't bring rubber gloves ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Strepsils Lozenges: To soothe a sore throat (329 words)

I'm basing my review on the Strepsils extra blackcurrent flavour as they are the ones I have been using over the past week. Last Tuesday I experienced the dreaded bug that seems to be going around where I live at the moment, sore throat, head aches and feeling rubbish. As a seasonal suffererof tonsillitus I know exactly what to do with a sore throat and this includes stocking up on 'sucky sweets'. My mum came back with a pack for me that I believe to have cost about £2.40 for 12. The box is white with Strepsils in black writing with 'pain relief for sort throats' written on it. Extra is written in purple and it also carries on to ...  Read the complete review

I dont know whether it is the terrible weather, on the onset of autumn but right now im finding myself with a sore throat and feeling pretty miserable. I raided the medicine cabinet and found myself with two choices, some honey and lemon strepsils and some fishermans friends. I decided to give the strepsils a go as they contain two antiseptic ingredients :- 2,4-Dichlorobenzylalcohol and Amylmetacresol. Never heard of either of those but I decided to give them a chance. There are 16 lozenges in the box in two blister packs of 8. You can break them into sections of 2 to put in your pocket im presuming. They are suitible for children aswell ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Strepsils Lozenges: Sugar-Free - Work For Me (601 words)

~*~ The Background ~*~ Last Friday morning I was feeling a bit funny and that afternoon, I was feeling worse. Come Saturday, my throat was killing me, so before going into work, I popped to the Boots down the road. This is one of the largest Boots stores in the country, and yet they only had one variety of sugar free throat sweets in stock. No prizes for guessing that these were the Strepsils ones. ~*~ The intention ~*~ Sounds a bit odd, I know. I mean what they are meant for. The official line is that they offer “fast and effective relief from sore throats and mouth ulcers” which I’d interpret as meaning that, erm, ...  Read the complete review
