Strepsils aren't an antibiotic so they aren't going to be a quick solution but they are one of the best over-the-counter medicines for sore throats.

They come in a variety of flavours and come in packs of 24. You can take one, every thre to four hours but no nore than 12 in a day. The average cost for a pack of 24 is round about £2.75, depending on where you purchase them from.
