Advantages: Helps soothe

Disadvantages: none so far

At the moment I'm really suffering with a sore throat and a bit of a cold, I think the families a bit glad that I have to whisper though, not much fun for me I can tell you.
So this morning it was a fast tpir to the nearest supermarket to get some relief.

I came home with these little mini lozenges, I think most of us know what strepsils are like, but these are little mini one's and are called Streps.
They come in a little cardboard packet which has pictures of blackberries, rapberries and redcurrants on the front.
They are made by Crookes Healthcare and are sugar free.
The flavour is wild berry and aloe vera for soothing and relieving sore throats.
This little packet is 35g in weight and contains about 14 little lozenges.

Each little lozenge looks like a boiled sweet, so be carefull not to leave them near the reach of little one's. They are quite small too so are not suitable for small children as they may cause choking. They also contain Isomalt which if comsumed in large doses will have a laxative effect.
Why am I taking these you may ask? because they seem to work would be my answer.

I bought these at about 8am this morning and it's now 2.15pm and I have only had to have two, the taste is deffinately berry flavour but has that distincive Strepsil undertaste.
Anyone who has eaten strepsils before will know what I am on about.
They lozenges are quite hard and have to be sucked not crunched, there is no soft honey or gel in the middle which I would like to see added for an extra soothing effect from the manufacturers.

These were quite cheap to buy, and I paid 43p as they were on the reduced shelf, the normal price is 65p which for the lasting result you get I think is a really good deal.
I wasn't expecting them to work as good as they have, so I will be going back to the supermarket to get some more later today.
Usually when you have a sore throat it seems to irritate mo
re at night, waking you up to give you a sleepless time.
With these little beauties I think I'll manage to get through the early hours without too much trouble.
So if your suffering with a sore throat like me, then keep your eyes out for Streps.
See ya later I'm off back to bed for some rest and a hot drink.
