Advantages: The best nappy rash cream around

Disadvantages: can be expensive

I first started using Sudocrem 9 and a half years ago when my eldest son was a baby. I hadn't really heard of it until i got my free sample in my Bounty pack. Sudocrem is an excellent product and can be used for many different complaints.

The tub is a light grey colour with a pull off/push on grey lid. On the lid there is a small lip so that it can be opened with ease. There is a white label wrapped around the tub with the Sudocrem logo in white writing set in a red background.

The cream itself is very thick and white in colour. It smells very strongly of lavendar but not in an overpowering way. I am not a lover of lavendar but i do like the smell of this cream a lot. It is an antiseptic cream.

Sudocrem is mainly associated with nappy rash but can be used for other things such as, eczema, cuts, sores, sunburn and minor burns. I have used it on both my children for nappy rash. There was only ever one time when the nappy rash was quite bad but i made sure that at each nappy change i used Sudocrem and that i used it for a couple of days. It worked like magic and cleared it up, leaving the skin really soft. It forms a barrier on the skin and so acts as a layer of protection from any irritants. I have also used it on my sons eczema. It has only been used on small dry patches but it definately helped take away the itchiness and dryness. The strong fragrance of the cream did not affect or irritate his skin at all.

It is recommeneded that you rub the cream in until it is almost invisible. I prefer to apply a generous amount and see the cream sat on the skin so that i know i have covered all areas needed to be covered. It comes in a range of sizes from the little tester pots that new mums receive up to a 400g tub with a 125g and 250g tub in between. It is quite expensive to buy but a tub lasts a long time and the product itself is excellent and actually does what it says on the tub. Prices start at around £2.70 for a smaller tub and for a larger tub you should expect to pay round about £7.00.

This is definately a product that all mums should have in their houses even if it just used for nappy rash and nothing else. This is the only product that i would recommend for nappy rash.

Summary: A definate must have for any new mums

Our two decided to finger-paint the furniture with it and I don't think anything takes it out of carpets! Caroline xx
