Advantages: Excellent
Disadvantages: None
Having recently had a baby, I have rediscovered sudocrem. It is amazing stuff. It is a white antiseptic healing cream. It really dries out the skin and so if excellent for nappy rash.
My baby had a really awful patch of nappy rash, where his skin looked almost blistered. He had had a cold and so slept from 7pm until 7am and his nappy was absolutely soaked through, as was his vest and sleeping bag and sheets. So you can imagine how bad the nappy rash was. I washed him and then let him have some time kicking around without a nappy to air his bottom. I then plastered his bottom thickly with sudocrem. I didn't let it soak in but just put on a really liberal coating. The next time I changed his nappy the blister was still there but the rest of the nappy rash had almost gone. Even the blister had totally disappeared within 24 hours with the use of sudocrem with every nappy change. It does dry skin a lot and so I needed to moisturise his bottom once the nappy rash has cleared because it became very dry.
My son also went through a phase of having baby acne on his cheeks. the spots looked very red and angry. I put sudocrem on them and within an hour or so the redness had faded. The small pimples were still there but the antiseptic in the cream had obviously sorted out the infection that was making them look swollen and angry.
It is also great on cuts and grazes and acts as a good antiseptic.
I would not be without it. It's about £2.50 for a massive tub so not at all expensive and invaluable with a little baby around.
Summary: It really works

- 05/01/09 I've got a very temperamental toenail (no, really) that seems to get infected every other week - one dab of this and it's fine again. |
