Sudocrem is an absolute wonder product. I originally bought it to treat nappy rash when I had my twins. The cream is very thick, you need to scoop a bit from the plain grey tub on your fingers and rub it in the affected skin. It doesn't sting at all, and leaves a thick white screen. As a nappy rash treatment, it soothes and heals the skin, but also forms a barrier against the contents of the nappy. Usually, when you change the next nappy you can still see the Sudacrem layer on the skin. This makes it the best product for nappy rash. It has a mild smell that is slightly 'medical' but not at all offensive. It's been around for at least 20 years without any change to the product or the packaging, good and reliable.
Over the years, I have found other uses. It treats, 'jock rash' for those who suffer from chaffing around the groin area after exercise, irritated by sweat. It clears and soothes quickly.
It treats spots, but due to the thick consistency I suggest wearing a layer overnight and see a difference in the morning.
It soothes burns.
And most bizarrely, I put some on my boxer mix dog - under her armpits. She has very thin hair under here and her skin chaffs if we take her for a long walk. Its thick enough to stay put, and she doesn't like the taste so she doesn't lick it off.
At 3.50 for a 250g pot, I would recommend everyone keeps some in their medical cabinet.
Summary: Sudacrem heals and soothes many ailments
