Disadvantages: Difficult to get out of hair, clotes, carpets etc

Sudocrem, has to be the best thing ever invented! I have been using this for roughly 16 years, I got a tester pot back in 1996 while pregnant with my son, the hospital gave out a bag of bits (Nappy samples, nappy bag, Sudocrem, spoons etc, information leaflets etc) in an attempt to help you into the daunting task of being a parent.

Thankfully my son rarely suffered with nappy rash, we went thought a stage when he did which was when we started using Pampers nappies. Within hours his bottom was extremely red and very sore looking, being new parents, we were unsure what was causing it so continued to use the same nappies for a few days, after advice from the health visitor, we changed nappies to Huggies and started putting on the Suocrem. It is a very thick, white almost lard consistency cream that sticks to anything it touches, literally. My son has covered himself, his walls and bed in this during his terrible twos and it did not come off easily. You may want to avoid having it come into contact with clothes or walls as it does leave a greasy mark. The reason it works so well is because it is waterproof, so it becomes a barrier between the skin and the contents, allowing the cream to do its job while keeping away the liquid. This is also why it is so hard to clean off, children, hands, clothes etc. It is an antiseptic cream as well so helps sooth soreness.

It mentions on the label that it can be used for sun burn, rashes, burns, cuts, eczema and spots amongst other things. I can vouch for sun burn, general burns and slight eczema. It does dry the skin which is good for helping to eradicate spots as well. As you do not have to use very much cream at all, the tubs do last a long time. Although the larger 400g tub is around the £5 mark, for how long this tub will last you , it is well worth the money.

I would recommend this cream to every new mother, old mother, teenager, in fact just about anybody.
