TCP - The Versatile Antiseptic >-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-< The playground saviour? >-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-<>-< Everyone remembers falling over as children and grazing their knees, don’t they? Well, maybe not quite everybody. For some, their childhood will now seem a distant memory, for others, the days of running around the playground may not seem so long ago. In spite of this, it is to be noted that cuts and grazes are not confined to the playground. Indeed, even as adults we may suffer the misfortune of taking a tumble whilst out shopping, playing ... I am quite certain that most homes keep an antiseptic preparation of some sort, that is conveniently and readily available at all times. Our household is no different and especially if you have two grown up children, the need for such medications are imperative. Since my childhood days my family has always used Dettol Antiseptic solution and infact I had written an opinion about this. However in recent times we have also started using TCP Liquid. I came across this when I was at a friends home and was using their bathroom. Being of the inquisitive nature I had a closer look at the bottle and had a look at the indications and I must say I was ... Read the complete review

TCP Liquid Antiseptic is something that I believe should be a staple item in all medicine boxes around the world. TCP comes provided in a glass bottle with a screw lid and it's a brown glass colour with a blue & green label which I find to be instantly recognisable. The bottle automatically reminds me of elderly relatives and trips to the hospital just because that is what the smell conjures up images of in my mind. I have only recently discovered that TCP can be used for the treatment of sore throats (dilute with water and gargle) and there are a variety of uses for it including, but not limited to: treating cuts, grazes, mouth ulcers, bites, ... I guess most households have a bottle of antiseptic tucked away in a cupboard, it was an even present in my family home when I was growing up (not in a good way as it normally made an apperance when I had cut my knee open or had some other injury from falling off my bike!) but you can't be without something like that with youngsters around I guess... when I moved out of home I can rember my mum sending over her homemade first aid kit, full of plasters and creams and there was the bottle of TCP sat on top. Now, having lived in my own place for 6 years every now and again the TCP has to come out....... TCP (the names comes from its original chemical name which I ... Read the complete review

TCP is a great all rounder to have in the bathroom cabinet. It is a liquid antiseptic. It comes in a dark brown bottle with a bluey green label. The liquid itself is a clear yellow colour. TCP has so many uses: Relief of sore throats-just dilute it and gargle twice a day. Mouth Ulcers-Dab direct onto ulcer three times a day. Boils, spots and pimples-dab undiluted four times a day. Cuts, grazes, bites and stings-Dilute with equal amounts water and apply freely. I am sure TCP must bring back many memories of child hood for many people. I can remember my Mum putting this very smelly ointment on my legs when ... Read the complete review
