TCP (Trichlorophenylmethyliodosalicyl) is a very common first aid kit addition as it has a multitude uses. It can be used for cuts and grazes, bites and stings, sore throats and mouth ulcers to mention just a few. A 100ml bottle of TCP will set you back about £1.99. The bottle is very old fashioned and made of brown glass so we can not see the yellow tinged antiseptic liquid that is contained within, and has a plastic lid. Even before kids, I have always had a bottle of this tucked away somewhere in the house for emergency use. Coming in a bit of an old fashioned brown glass bottle with a white plastic screw top lid, we seem to get through this quite quickly in our house because it is so good at killing germs and preventing infection in the skin. I have been using TCP for years and years. For some reason though I had almost forgotten about TCP for a time...perhaps its because I use Sudocrem a lot (for which I have already done a review). TCP is great though....of course it really does pong but its worth putting up with that as in my view TCP is a great antiseptic liquid. It may also be preferable to some rather than using an antiseptic cream/ointment. The four main things I have usually used TCP for are firstly for ears...that is to say...if ever my ears have become a little infected due to earrings I have always put TCP on them.
