I had a minor cold around a month ago, which I recovered from quite quickly and stupidly hoped this was my share of the winter colds this year. It wasn't, as I'm typing I've had another cold which has absolutely knocked me for six. I feel sick, have a runny and blocked up nose (at the same time, go figure!), ache just about everywhere and just generally feel like a bag of shit. It doesn't help that I'm seven months pregnant, so most of the medicines and remedies I would usually reach for are off limits this time around. So it's paracetamol, Olbas Oil, lots of hot chocolate and as many boxes of tissues as Mark could carry from Tesco yesterday. Now, if I'd ...  Read the complete review

In one of my last reviews I wrote about the dreadful tissues that I had brought from Sainsbury's, they were a real disappointment to me and although I did not pay a great deal of money for them I was still expecting something more from them. Once these tissues were close to running out I decided that it was better to pay more money and get a slightly more expensive tissues that may actually be absorbent and not rip when I went to take it out of the box and as I do my regular shopping in Tesco I decided that I would look for something in there and ended up buying the Tesco Balm Tissues. I may have not considered this option but as I had been suffering with a slight runny .  Read the complete review

Tesco Balm Tissues: To keep your nose looking and feeling good (418 words)

Tesco Balm Tissues After not being able to grab my usual trusty brand of Kleenex balm tissues I decided to try out Tesco's own brand balm tissues instead. When I am full of the cold I have found that paying a bit extra for balm tissues really does make a difference to how dried out, chapped and sore my nose gets. These tissues are coated with what Tesco describes as a 'soothing and delicate balm containing allantoin and are enriched with vitamin E'. These tissues are soft to the touch and you can feel the balm if you rub your fingers over it, but it is only lightly coated. Personally, I will be buying these again and I would recommend ...  Read the complete review

A hay fever life saver (382 words)

Hay fever season is upon us! For those of us who suffer its a time of sore, red, tender noses and the horrible feeling of pressing yet another harsh, sharp tissue onto your poor, delicate, abused nostrils. It is also a time of buying lots and lots of tissues, I keep them in my bedroom, my living room, my handbag, my car, and always have an extra box lying around spare just in case. Because of the bulk buying of tissues that is required, and as I am currently trying to be a bit more economical, I decided to try and keep the costs down by using a supermarket own brand instead of my usual Kleenex. I was wary because I was concerned that the quality wouldn't ...  Read the complete review

With having a stinking cold and sore throat for about the last two weeks, my nose was starting to look like Rudolph had landed early! Now I have been through so many boxes of tissues, being my nose gets red really easy I didn't want to buy any cheap ones, as these sometimes make things worse. So was I dissappointed when after an arm and a leg job ( £3.60 to be exact!) for a box of Klennex mansize twin box tissues, found my nose getting worse and worse. These seemed so harsh when you used them on an already sore nose as it was! Anyway not one to waste nothing I continued with these until near the end and went over Tesco's to buy some more. Those I ...  Read the complete review
