Tesco Ibuprofen

Description: Pain Relief Caplets.

Newest Review: ... tablets (Nurofen's equivalent is £1.89, and as I write this there's an advert on the page for 500 tablets for £11.95). ... more

... They're coated in some shiny substance that means that with a glass of water they go down really easily, and there's no horrible chalky aftertaste. They're aimed at relatively low-level pain - you'd need something more substantial if you'd had a tooth out or had a migraine, but for a regular headache, a hangover or period cramps they'd be ideal. They contain 200mg of ibuprofen each, which makes them a fairly standard-sized painkiller. Normal dose is 1 or 2 every 4-6 hours as needed, and it is definitely not advised to...more

Premium Review Tesco Ibuprofen: As Good As The Branded Ones, If You Believe (365 words)

Ibuprofen is non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and used as an painkiller, especially when there is also an inflammatory component (eg arthritis or joint pain in general) , also to fight fever. It's is marketed under several brand names (Nurofen being probably the most popular in the UK) and also as a generic or own-brand version. The price differentials are huge: Tesco Ibuprofen costs 2p per 200mg tablet (either a caplet or a standard tablet) while Naurofen costs around 12p per tablet. Therein lies the power of branding. I have never believed in the superiority of branded tablets over generics and have been a very happy user ...  Read the complete review

I don't like taking headache pills but there are occasions where I just can't get through the day looking after two boys under two and half with a massive headache. I always make sure these tablets are around for my hubby and on the odd day I will end up taking a couple too. You buy Tesco Ibuprofen in tablet or caplet form and there are 16 tablets in the box which pop out of a plastic holder. Each tablet contains 200mg of Ibrupofen they cost 32p which is amazing considering nurofen cost £2.64p. I also know that I can only purchase two boxes of these in one transaction which can be a bit of a pain when you have a husband that eats them like sweets. ...  Read the complete review

When it comes to aches and pains I really do get alot of them. For pain relief I take a few different tablets as well (as recommended from my Dr and Specialist). I don't know where to start listing my problems lol. I suffer migraine and backache, I have a spinal condition (I have injections every 3 months but it still slightly hurts all the time and will do for life) and I have an eating disorder which just gives me general aches, pains and lethargy in general. I continually get colds and have headaches and I have gland in my throat that is sore to the touch (on the outside of my body , it;s a small visible lump) that never goes down which makes me feel grumpy ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Save Pounds When Your In Pain (384 words)

I had a mad headache last week so when I was in Tesco I had a look at the painkillers because paracetamol wasn't helping. I'm not much good at swallowing tablets so I got these caplets because they are like a tiny sausage shape so I thought they'd be easier to swallow than big round tablets. These only cost 32p for 16 caplets so that's loads cheaper than Nurofen and the other big names in medicines. I think they worked wicked. I took 2 in the cafe in Tesco and I reckon they took about 10 mins to start working and my headache gradually got better and better until it was completely gone about 25 mins later. I know that's a longer time than it ...  Read the complete review

I am a regular user of painkillers. I have fibromyalgia, and I'm allergic to codeine meaning that unless I want to start moving up the ranks to something stronger, I have little option but to use ibuprofen and paracetamol on a regular basis. Actually, (with doc's approval of course!), I often use them in combination to combat break through headaches which I get despite being on betablockers to control them - the headaches not the doctors...oh for a tablet that controls doctors... I shop regularly in Tesco, so for me, buying ibuprofen here along with my weekly shopping just makes sense. Tesco seem to do three different versions of their own ibuprofen, a ...  Read the complete review
