Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Large caplets

In terms of pain relief to cost ratio, these caplets are the best you can get. They are cheap at on 32p and are great for pain relief from minor pains. The caplets are a little large and may be slightly hard to swallow without a large glass of water.

One advantage of the cheapness of these tablets is that you can have a few packets knocking around the place. Its good to have a packet in the car, in the bathroom, in the kitchen and in the bedside table draw. To do this with annadin or neurofen would cost a ridiculous amount of money but with these you can arm your household (and cars) against pains for a few pounds.

The packet advises one caplet to be taken up to 4 times a day but for a headache I think it is more effective to take two caplets and leave it at that. For worse pains I would recommend prescription pain killers rather than more expensive off the shelf pain killers because the difference between the off the shelf ones is not very much. Although the placebo of using a more expensive one might be worth something.

Summary: At 32p you just can't go wrong

Yes I completely agree - there's no point in paying for an expensive brand-name: generic painkillers do just the same job. Sometimes brand-name ones come with extra ingredients such as caffiene, but really that's just a gimmick.
