Tesco Value Facial Tissues
Advantages: They're handy for emergencies
Disadvantages: Too small, not very soft, not very absorbent
This review is likely to be fairly concise, as there's not that much to say about these tissues and I'm not sure anyone is really interested in them but in true Dooyoo style I can't use ANYTHING these days without thinking "I wonder if that's on Dooyoo for me to review".
We have these tissues floating around our office, it's one of those 'communal' items that we all help ourselves to, although I'm not sure if the person who brought them in knows that (lol!). The packaging is very non-descript, typical Tesco value with white box, red writing and the trademark Tesco blue stripes. The box is rectangular and as with most tissues opens from a perforated hole a the top.
The tissues themselves....well, I'm not sure they could actually be described as tissues to be honest. They're more like single sheets of toilet paper judging by the size. I only have small hands (and a smallish nose incidentally) but these are far too small to be of any use for what they're designed for. They're ok if you're eating something spicy and your nose starts running, providing a good emergency solution for wiping before your colleagues notice your nose is streaming. But if you had a full cold or hayfever these would not withstand a good old noisy blowing of the nose. They are tiny (I'm tempted to measure them but I'm actually in work on my lunch right now so might get some strange looks if I start measuring tissues with a ruler!). If you needed to use them to blow your nose or wipe up spills, you'd probably need at least three or four to avoid the tissue from ripping and putting your hand through it.
As for the quality of the tissues, they are not that far off resembling sandpaper. They feel rough to touch and quite thick like paper rather than being soft. They don't really absorb liquids very well so are not very useful for anything you might use them for. They are 2-ply, but this just makes them thick rather than soft. They remind me of the toilet paper we used to have in school - anyone who remembers this horrible shiny paper will know what I'm talking about!
I guess the price is the only thing that makes these tissues appealing. They currently cost 45p for 150 tissues. Although this is astounding value, I would recommend spending a little more for a nicer quality product as these really are a false economy.
Summary: Don't bother
