I always look for a store branded equivalent of a big brand as I feel that more often than not they do the same job, but the branded product simply costs more. I have not been let down yet and the Tesco Vapour Rub was no exception. The first time I came across the product was when I was full of cold, completely bunged up and looking for something to help me sleep. As kid we were always directed towards the "Vicks" so that's where I migrated towards when in the Supermarket. The product is located within the Health and medicine isle which is usually around the shampoo and personal hygiene isle The packaging is a small cardboard box with ... Read the complete review

Introduction: I had been suffering from a cold for just over a week and decided I needed something stronger than tablets I had been using. I initially wanted to buy some Vicks as this is what my parents used to rub on my chest as a child, I saw this next to Vicks and it was a lot cheaper, I had used many tesco own brand health products in the past so believed it would be just as good. I will now go into more detail on this product! Price: For a 50g tub of this vapour rub costs only £1, this is excellent compared to Vicks which costs £4.50 (for a 100g pot). The tub is similar to Vicks, but overall it is the best value vapour rub I have ... Read the complete review

I had a nasty cold before Christmas and took a trip to my local Tesco to pick up some cold-busting supplies. I intended to buy some Vick's Vapour Rub to rub on my chest to help me breathe better during the night, but I noticed this Tesco own brand variety on the shelf for a much cheaper price. The Tesco Vapour Rub comes in a white and green cardboard box with the product name on the front. Inside the box is a blue plastic jar with a green screw top lid. Upon opening the lid you will see a soft white paraffin substance and you will instantly smell the menthol and eucalyptus. I think this Tesco Vapour Rub smells slightly milder than the Vick's one - the Vick's ... Read the complete review

I have a rather extensive medicine cupboard at home as I am a very organised person and like to think that I have everything required to cover all illnesses and injuries that might occur at home. One item I like to keep in is a little tub of vapour rub. I am not one for buying named brands for the sake of it and when I looked on the shelves at Tesco's, I noticed that the Tesco's own vapour rub was over half the price of the branded vapour rubs. For the price of just £1.00, you can get a 45g little pot of Tesco's own vapour rub so that is the one I went for. The rub comes in a little pot with plastic screw cap lid. To use, you simply unscrew the ... Read the complete review

I have had a horrible head cold and sinus infection for the past couple of weeks so have been taking a variety of medications to try and make myself feel better and ease some of the rather unpleasant symptoms. One of the horrible side-effects of having sinus problems is a horrible congested 'stuffy' feeling in my nose and nasal passages. I find that the use of steam and menthol products can really help to alleviate the horrible 'blocked-up' feeling that can cause severe discomfort and pain and so for this reason I have been using "Vicks Vaporub" recently. I have got through so much of the stuff that I had to venture out and re-stock my supply at ... Read the complete review
