Advantages: They work ok

Disadvantages: They don't completely work

I've been having a bit of a nose congestion problem recently and according to my husband I always snore when I am asleep. I of course, don't hear it or believe him but apparently it is worse when my nose is blocked up so out of frustration that I cannot take any medicines at the moment (due to the fact that I am pregnant) I decided to buy some of these Breathe Right Nasal Strips in an attempt to get right of the congestion.

These are problem a good solution for people who do not like to take medicine or cannot as they are a product you just use outside of your body and are drug free so this is one positive for the strips.

The strips are said to gently open your nasal passages to help you breathe better, relieve nasal congestion and reduce snoring.

The strips basically look like little plasters but they are not made of plaster material. They are plastic and stick to your nose with a very sticky glue. It's almost like they bond to your nose as they do stay put all throughout the night and in place but I find them quite easy to take off in the morning as the sticky substance has lost some of its stickiness by then. When you open the packet, the strips have a backing which you just peel off and then smooth over your nose to attach. The instructions give you a diagram of where to put it on your nose but it is basically just over the bridge of your nose.

The strips do feel quite tight to me as they are lifting and spreading the top of the nose in order to open the nasal passages. I can feel the strip on my nose and can feel it in the night too but its not too uncomfortable, you do get used to it. To me, it almost feels like I have my glasses on as there is something always touching the bridge of my nose and I am forever trying to push up the "glasses" which is a bit of a weird sensation but again, after a while it shouldn't bother you.

So, do they work? Well, I have to say yes and no. I wasn't blown away by them. I still seemed to have a blocked nose during the night and it didn't completely relieve my congestion. However, according to my husband my snoring was a lot quieter than usual and in a way it did work to get rid of a bit of snoring but not completely.

Long term I think it's doubtful that I will continue to use these. I paid about £6 for a pack of ten so if you used them every night it could work out very very expensive, especially if they don't completely work but for once in a while when you have a cold they are a good alternative to medicine.

Summary: Breathe Right strips

I snore even when I'm not congested, and use a nasal clip which helps some. But this sounds like something I could use when I am congested. Thanks!
