Recently I had a really awful flu type bug. I felt really ill and one of the main problems I had was a blocked nose. I went to Boots and there were so many nasal decongesting products to choose from but in the end I went for the Vicks sinex soother.


==What is the Vicks sinex soother?==

The Vicks sinex solution is a nasal spray solution. It works to provide fast and soothing relief from a blocked nose which can be caused by common cold, rhinitis and sinusitis.


==My experience==

When I got the bottle out of the box I was surprised to see that it was made of glass. Other nasal sprays that I have used have been plastic and squeezy. Since I was really ill it took me a little while to actually realise that in order to release the product you have to gently push the nozzle down when it is in your nostril.

The nozzle pushes down easily to release a burst of the solution. In my opinion it smells like soft mints. This makes a nice change from some of the horrible scented nasal sprays you can buy.

It is recommended that you spray the product 1-2 times in each nostril. When I have used other nasal decongesting products in the past I have felt the effects instantly, this one was different. I have found that it takes 5-10 minutes before my nose starts to decongest but you can definitely feel it! After this time when I blow my nose it just all seems to come out and it lets me breathe again! I'm not saying it's a miracle and my nose is completely snot free because it still feels like I have got a cold and is still snuffly but the fact that I can breathe more easily is great.

Vicks say that this lasts up to 8 hours. During the day when I have used this the effects seem to last around 5 hours which isn't too bad. However when I use this in the night before I go to bed I don't seem to wake up during the night to blow my nose. I hate this when you have a cold!

==Conclusion==

I really like this product and although I would like to say I won't be getting anymore colds in my life so won't need to purchase it again the fact is I am a human and it will happen. But when it does I will reach for this to help me through it. A great product which deserves 5 stars.
