Advantages: Works and does not cost much.

Disadvantages: None for me.

There are two ailments that really make me feel lousy, a hangover and a stuffy nose. The cure for the hangover is one I can never administer (don't drink) the cure for the stuffy nose is easy, Vicks Vaporub. I swear by this stuff when a cold gets hold of me, it never fails and it gets rid of the stuffiness no matter how bad it might be.

I find myself using a 100g tub every time I have the cold but as they only cost about £2 depending on where you buy them then it is money well spent. To use Vicks Vaporub you simply rub the ointment onto your chest and allow the vapours to rise and penetrate your stuffy nose clearing both nose and throat as they go. There are instructions on how to use and how often you should apply but I tend to just rub some on when I need it most and have had no problems.

I do believe however that if you suffer from skin complaints you might be limited in your use of this stuff. It can be applied to a tissue and held under the nose if you cannot take it on your skin. You could even apply it to clothing but be careful it doesn't leave greasy marks.

Keep a tub of this stuff in the home at all times would be my advice to you and use it as soon as the dreaded blocked nose takes effect. There is also a junior version for the kiddies.
