My partner has very bad sinuses and slavers the vicks on everynight so I have now become very partial to the smell of vicks through no choice of my own.

Anyway with my recent cold I had to nick some for my own use and got my partner to rub some into my chest and back. My chesty cough instantly seemed to be relieved whether that was from my chest being massarged or the actually vicks rub I don't know, however the menthol smell did hit my airwaves and give me some initial relief.

I also put some in a bowl of hot water and placed a towel over my head as we always did as children, however this tub I have actually warns against that due to burning! But I personally feel you can't beat the vapours over a hot bowl so I will risk the burning!

Apparantly vicks rub can also be used as a muscle rub for sore muscles, I have not tried this but will be certainly convincing my partner to give me a rub down while I am milking this cold for all i've got!

Vicks vapour rub only costs a couple of pound and the tub lasts for ages and can treat the whole family so a very good value medicine compared to others on the market.

Summary: Cheap family medicine which really works.
