Buy a tub of vicks vapour rub, i know it came out with the ark, but it works and its cheap and unlike modern vapour products it relies mainly on menthol.
You rub some on the chest or neck area of your child so they can inhale the fumes.
Can also be placed on clothing if your kids dont like it on skin.
Works just as well on adults as children and is very economical.
You can even inhale it out of the tub for short term relief.
