Having suffered seasonal allergies for many years and tried all anti-histamines on the shelf I am relieved to discover that Zirtek actually works! The active ingredient in this tablet is Cetirizine Hydrochloride which can be purchased cheaper if you go for supermarket or pharmacy own brand. However, I have not tried these and cannot comment on their effectiveness. Zirtek comes in a very small capsule which is taken once a day. I found that after 3-4 days my sore eyes, runny nose, skin rash and wheezing all started to disappear. This item is branded as a '2nd generation' anti-histamine which it is claimed does not cause drowsiness. However, in my experience it does make ... Read the complete review

Zirtek is yet anohter allergy relief tablet. I've suffered from quite bad year-round allergies for several years now, and as a result have been taking various different forms of allergy relief over those years. Zirtek is the most recent that I have tried. Previously I have used Piriton and the Clarityn (though I do get mine on prescription, so it works out cheaper). I was getting nowhere fast with both of them. I had days, in all seasons, where I was quite literally confined to my house as my nose would not stop running. And I don't mean running in the normal sense. When most people say that they have a runny nose, they obviously have never had to put ... Read the complete review

I had never experienced any hayfever symptoms until about 3years ago. Over the last two weeks I have had it worse than I have ever had it before. Every morning I wake up with a wheezy chest and soon my eyes will start to itch terribly and then the bouts of profuse sneezing start. It can be incredibly annoying especially when you are going to work. It must be even more annoying for women wearing eye make-up as they have to try and stop themselves from rubbing their eyes and causing classic ?panda-eyes? as my girlfriend calls it. Hayfever or ?Allergic Rhinitis? is basically inflammation of the nose lining caused by some sort of allergic stimulus (usually ... Read the complete review

My son and myself suffer from hayfever, my son being the worst. He was first prescribed piriton syrup , this worked but made him too sleepy at school, so then it was changed to zirtek syrup. He suffers really badly and also even gets snuffly and bunged in winter too. However the zirtek works really well, one spoon in the morning when he gets up does the trick for the whole day and his runny nose stops soon after he takes it. I bought myself the zirtek tablets and although they are quite expensive at around £4.70 for 2 weeks , they are excellent, you take one tiny tablet that lasts for 24 hours. we have not had any side effects although in some people they can ... Zirtek is the only thing that I have found to stop hayfever that really works. For a couple of years when my hayfever was fairly bad and starting in April and not ending in September I took Claritin, Piriton, various nasal sprays that the doctor prescribed me but nothing really worked brilliantly. Then I discovered Zirtek, I'm not even sure how I found it but the first one I took stopped my hayfever almost completely in the space of about 45 minutes!!! Sure I had the odd sneeze and bit of a runny nose but not the watering eyes and sore throat and everything else that had gone along with it for many mornings previously. You only have to take one ...
