One of the things I hate about this time of year is the risk of getting a cold sore as they are unsightly and the sort of thing tat always wants to make an appearence before a big party or social gathering and they can be a pain to get rid of.

My treatment of choice is Zovirax cold sore cream which is a really effective remedy epecially if you apply it at the first hint of a cold sore when you notice the cracked or slightly inflamed skin around the mouth and that tingling sensation you sometimes get.

You need to apply this white cream up to five times a day covering the infected area completely every four or five hours and you might have to use it for up to five days at a time if the cold sore is already established, the cream cleans up the infection and prevents it spreading as well, the active ingredients includes aciclovir, dimeticone and alcohol.

I find that it does not sting when applied and is very effective especially at preventing the cold sore from fully developing in the first place.
