Get rid of that horrible cold sore! (Zovirax)

I do not actually suffer from cold sores but my husband gets them all of the time and I am writing this after everything he has told me about Zovirax. I feel quite lucky that I don't suffer from cold sores as they can be painful and you've got to admit they don't look very nice. Like everthing there are probably lots of different treatments for this but the one and only product my husband will use is Zovirax.

As it says above Zovirax has been clinically proven to prevent cold sores from appearing and it speeds the healing process after the cold sore has appeared. I think it does work in making the cold sore less painful and it does seem to get rid of it quicker than if the cold sore is left. However I am not sure if it actually prevent cold sores because my husband seems to get them quite often. I think they are one of those things that you either get or don't get.

Zovirax Cold Sore Cream comes in a 2g tube, which is absolutely tiny. I think it is quite expensive for such a small amount. The last one I bought cost me £4.18 from Morrisons but that was on special offer. I think full priced it costs about £5.50 to £6. Surprisingley the 2g tube does seem to last quite a long time.

The cream should be used at blister or tingle and the cream should be applied liberally over the affected area. This should be done five times a day at four hour intervals for five days. Usually by this time the cold sore has disappeared.

The cold sore cream also contains aciclovir which prevents the cold sore from spreading, I find this does work because whenever my husband gets a cold sore it does usually stay at just the one.

As I said my husband really loves this, he says if you catch the cold sore early enough then it will stop it from becoming a large blister. He also says that it is really effective at taking away the tingle, as it is that what makes the cold sore so uncomfortable.

Even though Zovirax is so expensive for such a small amount if the product works and stops cold sores from being painful and spreading all over your face then it is got to be worth the money. I'm fortunate I don't get them but will be sure to get Zovirax if ever one was to appear.
