~ Adam Wyoming ~

Before we moved home we rented a house off our local council, the houses were being 'regenerated' and basically modernised and updated. Part of the 'regeneration' was that houses with gas fires and back burner boilers would be fitted with combi-boilers and the gas fires removed and the hole blocked up. A friend of mine had a call saying they would be around to do hers in a few days time and would she be avilable to let the workmen in, she's a nurse and booking time off with that short notice wasn't possible so I offered to be there to sort everything out if they happened to call when she was at work.

As it happened when they first called around she was in fact in work but had the next 3 days (or so) off, so I let them in and stayed while they wandered around saying what needed to be done etc..
They left and called back again when she was there the following day and got on with the work, they fitted a combi-boiler and took the fire away and plastered up the hole.
So when it came to 'my turn' so to speak, I pretty much knew what to expect or so I thought.
I had already been to B&Q and purchased an elecrtic fire and was looking around for a fire surround that I wanted, so I was very surprised when they started talking about putting an electric fire suite in!
They done the boiler and took away the fire and came in with a nice fire suite - The Adam Wyoming. Looking online I can see that this is available in Argos but I know that they had a supplier so these didn't come from there.

This fire suite was very nice, it had a gorgeous oak fire surround and a cream back panel, there was a black and brass elctric fire in the middle and the hearth was of a cream vaneered wood. It looked very classy and a hell of alot different to the ugly gas fire that had not long ago be sat there on the wall!

The fire was very simple to use and basically acted like a fan heater, it had a low heat setting, a high heat setting and cool. When in use it had the ribbon flames that made it very life like and it was really comforting on a cold night but even when off it looked very classy and smart.
To use the fire you just had to flick the switches to the on position and there was a dial with 0-5 on, you would choose your heat setting with this and it really was as simple as that.

The surround was already varnished when it was installed so there was nothing that I needed to do and it really did make my living room look a lot more modern and up to date.

When my friend popped over for a cuppa she was so jelous and absolutly gutted that they hadn't installed a fire for her and she was always commenting how nice it looked!

It was very easy to clean, just polish and a cloth and it would come up lovely everytime.

I took the B&Q fire back for a refund as I was more than happy to save £100+ and keep the nice Wyoming fireplace.

Summary: A really nice looking fireplace.
