Argos 2kW Convection Heater
Advantages: Well priced and keeps a room at a constant temperature
Disadvantages: Takes a little while to get going
At work, we haven't reached the 21st century yet and although part of our offices are centrally heated, the part that I work in isn't so we have to rely on alternative heating to keep the offices warm. We have a few not very good wall heaters, but one office I work in hasn't got a heater so I managed to convince my boss to purchase a heater for it.
As the economy has hit our trade hard, I obviously wasn't given much of a budget and so I found the Argos Value 2KW Convection Heater purely because it was a decent size and didn't cost much.
This heater is available from Argos for £19.99 which for the size heater you get I don't think is that bad. The dimensions of the heater are H39 x W52 x D11cm.
As it is from the Argos Value range, you can probably gather that it is a pretty basic heater. It is predominately white with black feet and black edges. The heater has three heat setting and is thermostatically controlled. There is a large vent which runs across the top of the heater which dispenses the warm air.
This heater is quite versatile in that it can be freestanding and it is pretty sturdy on the quite wide feet attached, but it can also be wall mounted if you so wish to free up some floor space and the fixings for wall mounting do come within the box should you wish to display the heater in this way.
The heater is really quiet so the power indicator light is rather handy as it is a reminder that you need to turn the heater off as it is really easy to forget, though you do get peace of mind that should the heater become too hot, there is a safety cut out.
The heater doesn't provide instant warmth, it takes a while to build up to a degree where the entire room is at a constant warm temperature but I do like the fact that it does work and it does work well. It is really easy to control the temperature and I like the fact that it is easy to maintain a constant temperature so the room doesn't feel too hot or too cold.
Considering this is a cheap and cheerful heater, it doesn't feel it at all. It works really well and although it is quite basic, it does the job it is intended to do and so long as it does that, I don't need it to look fancy or feature loads of buttons and gadgets that I wouldn't otherwise need!
Overall, this is a really decent heater for the price and works really well so therefore it comes with a recommendation from me.
Summary: A really good heater from the Argos range
