      ===My Opinion===

      I am sure most of you who receive weekend newspapers will be familiar with the small colour catalogues than come inside then - one always being for Coppers of Stortford. Now up until recently I had never ordered from them, but one day my husband flicked through the catalogue and decided he wanted some special sunglasses, so rather than just put in an order for him I decided to add a few more things to qualify for the free postage!
      Now I had bought myself a little bar fire last autumn, but as son's house was freezing I gave it to him.
      Now our situation is that we have oil central heating, which works well, but often I spend time in bed and do not want to heat half of the house just to take the chill off the air, or to have to go around turning all the other radiators off, so I wanted a cheap and lightweight fire that I could just use to take the chill off the air in my north facing bedroom, which is definitely the coldest room in the house.
      In these days of austerity I was also looking for something that I would not feel guilty about using and this fire seemed to fit the bill. Being able to use it with either one or two bars (500 or 1000 watts) meant that this would only cost about 15p to run for an hour with two bars - or for two hours with one bar - which seemed pretty reasonable to me.
      The anti tilt mechanism underneath means that the fire will cut out and switch off if it is knocked over.
      The fire is quite compact and very lightweight - I kept the box it came in so when it is not being used it is packed away under my dressing table. I do not really find the temperature too bad in the day but around 5 pm in the winter you can actually feel the temperature dropping. This fire would not really heat a large room unless on continuously but to take the edge off the feeling of coldness in my bedroom it works just fine. I do not really even have to leave it on for very long - and at about 7.5 pence for one bar for an hour I can safely warm up my room without breaking the bank. Many heaters you can buy would cost 30p an hour to have on - which is quite a difference.
      When my other son is at home of course I put the radiators on but if he is out I am quite happy to pop this little fire on for half an hour or so and them I am warm enough.
      Personally I have got used to wearing more clothes rather than just flicking on the radiators but occasionally I do feel the need of a little extra heat.
      I would say this little fire is a great standby for small rooms, bedsits, caravans or just in case your heating breaks down.
      Although I have their catalogues I ordered through their website and received very helpful and efficient service.

      Apparently all Coopers items are covered by a 12 month guarantee - so oyu can buy with confidence.
