Advantages: Instant heat which can be used even outdoors

Disadvantages: Too bright for the eyes

This heater which is really cozy and has a fireplace-like effect is definitely my favourite one. Unlike other fan heaters, the halogen heater is not noisy in operation.

The advantage of a halogen heaters is that it emits radiant heat, this means that even if the room itself is cold you will feel the heat if you are sitting close enough to it. Although it directs heat towards one direction only, you can feel instant warmth as soon as it is turned on. You do not have to wait for the whole room to warm up. I found this especially very practical when I used to give my baby a bath in winter time. Just minutes before her bath I would warm up my room and when I would take her in to get changed, the room would be all nice, cozy and warm.
Another positive point is that with halogen heaters you can save having the light on when it is dark as they give out very bright light. The radiation emitted by halogen heaters is directly absorbed by the skin without heating the air in the room first. This is very practical when it comes to warm people outdoors or in rooms which are not well insulated.

The only disadvantage of halogen heaters that I can think of is that they can burn things if placed too close to the front grill, therefore supervision is needed especially if there are small children around.

In brief, I would recommend the halogen heaters which I think is suitable for people of all ages from babies to elderly people.

Summary: Highly recommended for all age groups... from babies to elderly people...
