“ Manufacturer: DeLonghi / Alimentation: Electric „
I chose the DeLonghi Garda Electric stove for its appearance, and its brand name. I have recently gone completely over to electricity rather than use gas and I needed a replacement fire for my lounge.
This stands at 55 cms high and is 57 cms wide. It is made of grey metal and has a coal effect which is accessible via a door that opens at the front.
The flame effect uses two 40w screw in bulbs and the unit can be set at 1kw or 2kw for heat. It can also be used on flame effect only. The main reason for selecting this model was that it also has a room themostat to save electricity.
The unit is attractive and efficient in operation. The only problem I had with it was getting it level because if it isn't level, the flame effect drum at the back makes a noise. A spirit level and some pieces of cork soon resolved the problem though.
I estimate that this will cost 12 per hour to run but that depends on your electricity provider and how high or low the room thermostat is set.
I haven't had it long enough to make a proper assessment of costs yet, but it is certainly pleasing to look at.
I bought this electric stove for £134 from a local electrical shop and it is excellent value for the price. It has the usual solid DeLonghi look and does exactly what it is supposed to do.
