Get Tubular Heater 80W
Advantages: Cheap To Buy & Run,.
Disadvantages: Only Warm Enough To Provide Heat For Small Enviroments.
If your looking for a radiator to provide you with your main source of heat in a room then stop reading now, as that's not what this heater is designed to do. Instead it's designed to act as a frost guard for area's such as garages, or conservatories when you want to either prevent frost from taking hold, or too just help take the chill out of the air.
While this heater only generates 80w of heat I had a very exact location in mind. For some reason when I got central heating installed in my house no radiator was placed in the hallway. This meant that any time you left the warmth of the living room (and into the hall) you would be hit with a wall of coldness. My hall is small, and I've tried using an oil filled radiator to heat it, but it seemed rather expensive to run, I then tried a halogen heater, but the colour of the light tended to give me a headache (I know I'm a pain.) So when I saw this tubular heater, I knew I had found the ideal product for my requirement.
It's only around two feet in length and it is either wall mountable or stand alone. Either way it's unobstructive enough not to be noticed. It has a overheat safety cut out and this combined with the fact it doesn't belt out a great deal of heat, gives me the confidence to leave it on for long periods of time - what I have without a single problem. It seems very cheap to run, I use an electric key meter (pay as you go) and I've noticed little difference in the cost of my weekly electric bill.
More to the point it does what I wanted it to do, provide a background source of heat, so I don't shiver everytime I leave my living room.
If your looking for heater to warm an entire (large) room to a comfortable feel, then look else where, but if like in my case you're looking for something that's cheap to buy, cheap to run, and just to warm an area up a bit, then this tubular heater is highly recommended.
