Advantages: Easy to insall, gives out efficient heat, quiet when in use
Disadvantages: None from me
When we had our Conservatory built, we made the decision not to have a radiator built into there, we were able to have all 3 walls with glass in as opposed to having one plastered and we decided that a radiator would spoil the overall look. In the summer we certainly don't need any sort of heating in there but in the winter we do feel the cold. it is not a room we use that much in the winter but when we have friends over we do need a bit of extra heat and after much deliberation we have put a small heater on the wall. Perhaps now looking back we should have put the heater in in the first place but that's hindsight for you! After looking around we decided to buy the Honeywell FSW 505 Frost Watch heater. Here are my thoughts on it.
We did our looking round for the heater and made sure we did a little bit of research before making the actual purchase. The heater cost us just over the £50.00 mark and this was from the B&Q store. The heater can be found in the Argos store for the same price as well as online from the Amazon website. I didn't have a preference really where we got this from but when we did go and view it in store it was slightly smaller than I though so I was pleased about this and so we made the purchase and took the heater home.
We were soon to open the boxed heater up. upon opening we saw that there was a detailed instruction booklet as well as a very impressive 3 year warrantee. I have to be honest and state that this was put onto the conservatory wall by my lovely other half! He did seem to do it very quickly though and had no issues with the fixture and fittings and the next thing we knew, the heater had been mounted to the wall.
The heater is mainly white in colour and there is a white grill on the front where the heat will come out. other functions of this heater are that it has an automatic shut off if it overheats as well as a thermostat and a frost watch function. I did have to have a read of the instructions just to make sure that I got the most out of this heater. The measurements of the heater are 26 x 11 x 28 cm (L x W x H) so it just sits very neatly on the wall.
The first thing that I noticed when using this was that it was very quiet when I went to switch it on. There is a red button on the side of the heater that allows you to get it going. The heater doesn't take long to get the conservatory warm either. What we did was switch it on and then left it 10 minutes to heat the room up, I shut the doors and let the heat stay trapped in. when I went to go back into the room I was really pleased with the warmth that had been generated. We have used this heater on a regular basis over the winter months and I like that it is great when we use it and have friends in there as the temperature can be set so we get it just right. The heater doesn't give off to much of a dry heat and I like that it will switch off or on according to the temperature in the room.
I would be happy to recommend this heater as it has been really reliable for us and it certainly is efficient, it doesn't need to be on for hours at a home and it heats the room as opposed to a small area.
5 out of 5 from me on this one, I wish we had done this sooner!
Thank you for reading
