Oscillating Halogen Heater

Rating:
Advantages: There are none
Disadvantages: Dangerous, will set fire to itself and your flat / house - causing toxic plastic fumes.
I purchased this Halogen Heater from Pound Stretcher and after thinking i was just smelling a bit of dust burning that may have settled on the heater for the past 3 - 4 weeks, it turns out after I looked at the heater more carefully that there was smoke bellowing out from behind and at the top of this heater where it had burn't big holes in the back plastic cover and also the front metal grill. I was fortunate enough that my flat mates investigated this smell after some weeks and discovered this Dangerous heater with the large holes in it where the plastic has been melting / burning. I am fortunate that i am my flat mates are still alive. I have been sleeping in my bedroom with this heater on simply because the people I live with have got single glazing windows and unfortunately the flat gets very cold during the day and especially at night. This could have worked out even more disastrous as its a block of flats the whole flat and the entire block of flats could have all burnt down due to this product where the metal back plate is too close to the plastic. Beware of this piss poor product which has been imported from Korea and is licenced by Hyundai Corporation. It appears thses cheap products are not regulated by the governent or anyone else - so everyone will just have to look out for yourselves and if someone even offers you one of these even for nothing, I would definately say no and advise them to throw this rubbish into the bin where it belongs.!!!
PS there isn't a minus rating, the minimum default rating to let me post this article is 1 star.
Summary: this should be avoided if you care for your own and your childrens lives and your animals.
