I bought this HiFi back in 2000 and had no major problems with it since, I've been looking around and cant find anything today with as much meat as this not to mention the spec it comes with. I paid £160 Irish pounds at the time in Letterkenny Donegal, and it was a bargain. The Sound quality is second to none with its sub-woofers and top end tweeters. Both tape decks are full logic with both having rotational heads for auto reverse very rare these days, both decks use ?Dolby B? noise reduction and have auto selectors build in for Metal PB tapes, only seen on expensive stand alone separate tape decks. You can use high speed dubbing for cassette never used it or use CD edit function to automatically fit the right amount of songs to a given tape length then let it work away. The system uses Digital filters to produce the clearest sound possible and a chip developed in America for recording studios BBE, can be selected in three stages, BBE (for beautiful vocal and instrument reproduction) T-Bass(for true deep base), GEQ (electronic graphic equalizer) which can be manual preset with 5 memories, or use the usual Rock, Pop or Classic. Timer (Record a favorite radio show or wake you up in the morning with the radio, Cd or Tape) CD Blank Skip (useful for Robbie Williams CD where there is another bit of audio several minutes further on it just jumps to it) Multi Jog (used for all major search functions and adjusting handy surrounded by a nice green LED the ?blinks when you use it?) Rhythm (weird can be used to accompany a CD with auto beat timings the computer doesn?t always get this right but there is load of other beats to choose from and you get to play two instruments ?spice buttons? and auto spice/fill in while you jam. Karaoke (the hi fi will try to mute the singer?s voice or try to so long as they sing on both speakers does a good job, and you can control the mic volume ?mic
mixing knob? its in the following stages. VF Completely get rid of the singer. A-VF Completely get rid of the singer only when you sing MPX-L For old records where the singer may sing on the left channel A-MPX Same as above but Auto only when you sing Three Disc CD changer plays CDRs and CDRWs easily without boasting about it, and this is nifty you can change disc while there?s one playing. ECO saves you power in standby I love this machine but there?s only one drawback, the very colourful florescent display is starting to show fatigue, suppose after 4 years it going to run low on gas but I?m sure it will last another 4 years. There you go what a review I?ll give it 9 out of 10
I am not a tight person but I dont like paying money for a different name. I loved this SONY HI-FI that I saw, £600! Then I looked at the AIWA next to it. Exactly the same spec just one thing different, SONY sign replaced with an AIWA. It has the usual, 2 tape decs, 3 CD multichanger, radio (FM, AM and LW). I thought it was a bargain at £130. It is infact a basic machine but when buy friends are spending £250 pounds more for basically the same thing, I feel pleased that I have an extra £250 to spend on........extra music? A good buy.
