This is a great Midi system at a good price! Being the great music lover that I am (I have over 150 CD albums!), I wanted a midi that was well built. I myself am not too keen on all this 'smaller is better' phrase, I prefer a midi that is big and has 2 cassette desks instead of one. I have had this midi system for a few months now due to the fact that my old CD player stopped reading my CDs! I purchased this one from Comet for around about £130, which is really good for what it gives! There was a few things that I wanted my CD player to have, good speakers, OK EQ and various other stuff such as remote control timer etc. This is the only Midi system which came close the only thing that it didn’t have that I wanted was a Mic socket because I love singing along to the songs but hey, you can't have everything! *~*~* The Specifications *~*~* *The specifications include a 3 CD disc changer which was a must when considering buying a system. *Twin cassettes so I can record from one tape to another *Digital radio with RDS (which tells the stations name and PLT (gives additional info such as the phone numbers etc which is handy for phone in competitions) *3-way speakers are 100 watts each! which are very powerful! The midi also includes a specification, which is called BBE, which increases the quality of the sound especially on tapes! You won’t believe the difference this makes to the sound of the CD tape etc. I still can't get over the sound quality that is given out of this baby! I only wish I had a portable version! It also includes a remote with sleep and timer and programmable presets and so on. The GEQ can be to 5 settings consisting of Latin, Pop, Rock, Classical and Jazz. I would really recommend this system which also allows you to play copied CDs (CD-R) and also CD rewritable discs (CD-RW) The midi itself looks really nice and has
many different colours used in the screen and when the midi is on standby for instance, you can either choose the Clock to be displayed or “Demo” which consists of a game including all different colour lights. There are also 2 blue neon type strips which highlight part of the buttons on the midi which look great at night. I cannot stress to you how much value for money this is! The last Midi system I had I paid nearly £200 for and it didn’t have half the stuff this one has! This is a truly great buy!

- 29/06/01 i had an aiwa stereo for about 6 years,it lasted quite well, but it too then stopped loading cds. i strongly recommend that next time you upgrade your stereo that you go for a seperates system. I spent only £250 on my first seperates, and the sound is 10 times better than any midi system could produce! fair enough, at the moment i only have an amp, cds player and the speakers, but i can upgrade any part of it when i like, unlike a midi or mini system. its really worth doing.... |

- 06/05/01 Yeah, £130 does sound good for such a spec-ed up system. Especailly as there aren't that many that play CDRW's properly... |
