Advantages: Great purchase for great price

Disadvantages: remote didnt last, Not the best radio

After just being paid I went straight into Argos to buy a new iPod touch along with all the gadgets I could get. This iPod dock being one of them. I've had it for several months now and do not regret this purchase one bit.

I spent a lot of time flicking through the pages searching for my perfect dock and came across this beauty for £60. I wasn't really interest in the technical bits like the volume and what not, being the girly girl I am I wanted something to play my music while looking pretty. In my opinion, pretty is definitely a word suited for this dock. The main part of the dock where the CD and iPod are placed glows a beautiful colour blue when turned on with a screen in front of it which rises and lowers with a click of a button.

The speakers can be inserted with a long wire which allows you to spread them apart if desired. The cables aren't very long to reach across a room but enough to give the sound some variation. The lead going from the mains to the dock isn't annoyingly short for me but probably suits most people. This is mostly because the mains in my house are awkwardly places behind sofas and beds I'm sure for most people the shortness of it won't get in the way.

CD player

The CD player does exactly what it needs to do. The CD is placed in upright with the screen down to allow it to play. I love the way that you can see the CD go round as the screen is see through. You are provided with a remote to control the music as well as button on the button of the dock itself. However, after about a month the remote stopped working even when I replayed the batteries as well as the 'next' button stuck awkwardly in the dock so difficult to skip songs.

IPod player

Again it's the same as the CD player. The only problem I have with this part is that it's difficult though not impossible to put an iPhone or iPod touch into it as the small hole more suited for Nano's. However, once in it still plays your music with no problem.

Radio

The only big disappointed I have with this dock is that the radio is pretty rubbish. The thin wire coming out of the back is the areal which isn't easy to position to get good signal. I've never been able to get radio 1, the only station I listen too (though still rare).

I would still recommend this dock however as most people would probably buy this mostly for the CD player and iPod player rather than the radio. It looks very attractive in my opinion and seeing as its lasting several months in my dump of a room where technology comes to die, id say its durability is great! It's lived through many falls and the speakers are constantly on max and haven't broken. A great purchase.
