Advantages: Ease of use
Disadvantages: Needs better speakers, and the radio presets do not memorise the RDS/ station name
Pro's:
A great sounding system with the advantages of rear inputs and outputs with the added bonus of adding a sub-woofer and an optical digital output for connection to a digital recorder.
The system sounds at it's best when the AHB-pro is used as it adds that bit of extra punch.
The top loading CD player is also an advantage for lens cleaning from time to time.
The FM tuner display is clear and easily readable with a useful dimmer switch.
Cons: You need a suitable outdoor FM aerial for optimum radio reception and also the radio will only hold the actual frequency of the station and NOT the saved RDS data. Sometimes with a strong signal, the RDS will continuously switch from station name to frequency which can be annoying after a while. I have never known a system that only memorises the frequency and not the actual station name.
The supplied speakers give fair audio quality for their size, but are well built. This system really improves when used with a pair of floorstanders although the treble is rather 'dull' even when selected to +6.
Summary: A good system for smaller rooms with decent audio quality
