This JVC HIFI system is a little old fashioned now that every one's using iPods and iPads and no ones buying Cd's anymore. I still like to hold a CD in my hand rather than download it.
That's why I still use one of these.
This is a silver bodied sky blue screened display wooden speakered system.
It's main selling point is the fact that you can load five Cd's into it. It has a five Cd changer. This is great as some Cd's only have a few tracks on them or mane you only want one song off of a CD and lots off another. With this machine you can switch from one to the other but can't program it to shuffle between the Cd's. You can however do that when listening to only one CD.
It has AM and FM radio and the channel name will be displayed on the bright blue screen.
The remote control is silver and nice and small. It matches the over all look of the sound system.
It has a reasonably load 60 watt output and the sound sounds better if you remove the grey mesh covers from the speakers. They are fully removable and easy to put back on. You can play Cd's, CD-Rs, CD RW in this machine and it also supports MP3. So you get the best of both worlds.
Yes it's a bit old fashioned but I thick it's the best way to listen to music.
The main feature of this system is that has a 5 cd changer as standard. This works very well as you can load 5 cds and the system will play them through back to back although, unfortunately, it is not possible to use a random shuffle feature across the 5 cds although it can be done over individual cds. It is also able to load a cd whilst another is playing which is a very useful attribute. The system also supports MP3. The sound quality is very good but I have had trouble using the FM AM radio part of the Hi Fi as it struggles to pick up a good signal so I would not recommend buying this if the radio is a main feature of what you need it for. It also comes with a remote which is simple and easy to use. Aesthetically it very pleasing, with a nice modern, sharp look and bright blue LED screen with the track number, radio frequency etc presentation. It also has other useful features such as the ability to set the system as an alarm which will play one of your chosen CD's to wake you up in the morning as well as a sleep mode.
I have had this JVC hifi system for just over 3 years. As soon as it went out of warrenty I have had no end of problems with it. A) the volume seems to have a mind of its own, one moment is is playing at a plesant 10 on the volume scalem the next it shoots up to 30 with out warning, which can give you a startle! However the main problem is with the cd player, it has just stopped working, it will not read any cd, I have 3 cd's stuck in the machine, it is now useless..all it says is no cd inserted.. none of the 5 cd doors will open. This unit was not cheap, and I didn't expect to need to replace it after just 3 years! this is the 2nd JVC product we own, that has just stopped working (again just after the warrenty runs out) My advice would be to avoid JVC, their customer service is as useful as their products. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. (unless you have plenty of money to waste)
