The Philips MCM239 is a multi-purpose built hifi. It can play from USb which is extremely handy at social gatherings, from an ipod which makes most of the CD's in my collection redundant now and it can also play the standard CD format.
Also included is a digital radio which tunes at the push of a button on the included remote. The remote is extremely handy and seems to work well over long distances and has all the usual features including a source button so you can switch instantly from a CD to an Ipod.
Soundwise it fares quite well, there is more bass than I was expecting (and liked) but that is easily remedied as you can change the amount of bass, mid and treble in the menu. This hifi has very few problems and the ones it does have can be fixed just from changing the settings, for the price though I can see it having alot of competition as I don't feel the sound quality justifies the price.
