Advantages: Excellent sound quality, lots of features, stylish little system

Disadvantages: A bit of a dust magnet at times!

We were on the lookout for a new micro hi-fi system around the time of our wedding, so popped this onto our gift list! We were fortunate to have it bought for us - this was three and a half years ago now!

It is a very stylish little system - although mahogany colouring doesn't usually spring to mind when you think of stylish hi-fi systems, it does work very well, and looks beautiful on the speakers. The silver of the actual hi-fi is lovely, although a bit of a dust magnet sometimes!

The hi-fi is for one disc at a time only, but if you don't want to be up constantly changing cds, there is a USB point to plug a memory stick. The system will then play whatever mp3's feature on your memory stick - I personally find this to be an excellent feature.
The USB point can also be used to rip CD's straight to a memory stick, in mp3 format - quite handy if you can't be bothered to load up a computer, or do not have access to this facility anywhere else.

One little niggle - it features a cassette player. As someone who hasn't played a cassette for over ten years, this feature does seem a little silly, but I understand that some will still want this feature. However, you can record cassette to USB memory stick too, so could be useless if you have a lot of mixed tapes that you would like to listen to else-where!

Sound-wise - you really cannot fault this system, the quality is first class! You are able to adjust the bass and treble through a remote control that comes with the hi-fi. I have never had issues with the sound, and found it to be excellent quality (particularly with CD's) even at quite high volumes.

The remote control contains the usual features - volume control, the ability to switch between AUX/CD/cassette, adjusting the treble/bass, etc. Ours has been very reliable, and I think since we bought it we've only changed the batteries once!

It has a AUX point, through which you can attach your mp3 players/iPods through an additional cable (not included - we had one from a previous system). Again, this produces excellent sound quality, but you must remember to turn the volume up on the actual mp3 player/iPod otherwise it will be very quiet through the actual hi-fi.

The CD player is good and reliable - although our system has developed a bit of a 'skip' recently - it occasionally skips a couple of seconds on CDs, but I suspect it will probably just need a clean out to stop this.

Overall - I am very very happy with this hi-fi system, even three and a half years later! So it must be good!

Summary: A fantastic little micro hifi system, with fab sound quality and a stylish look!
