Looks good, Not easy to use (Philips MCB204 DAB)

Advantages: looks so good in kitchen, really pristine looking - slivery ahhh!

Disadvantages: not easy to use, not pick up all dab stations

I remember buying this a long time ago and i thought that it looked quite good and stylish. It was for use in the kitchen, but it really did shine in the place i thought it looked really nice.

When we used it i felt that it was simply not picking up all the right stations and i found it quite difficult to use in terms of the buttons for the tape recorder and the DAB receiver failing to pick up crucial radio stations like Asian Sound radio for example for me. I thought that it was quite nice looking but i did notice when i put my hand on the thing it smudged and my fingerprint remained on it. Therefore i had to clean it because it looked sooo nice LOL! in the kitchen. So i stopped using it and started just admiring it.

I realised later that despite it looking nice it wasnt picking up my fave radio stations on the DAB facility and it was more a piece in the kitchen than something we used. It was hard to use the tape recorder and i didnt like the remote -- too clunky. I thought the lights where amazing, but it did stuck one of our tapes we put in and it had to be fixed but that was the last straw, after four days we returned it and now have a SONY DAB recorder that we've used for nearly a year and never had a problem. It doesnt look as good but it picks up all the stations, comes with's own atenna and is amazingly easy to use.

I think its a quite valid question, why doesnt it pick up all the stations - it didnt come with a attenna and I back then had no idea where to buy one, so it went back. It looks stunning though. We only bought this because of the DAB facility, because we need to listen to Asian Sound Radio! and it didnt pick it up, and despite flicking through lots of manuals and phone calls it couldnt do it. It's nice looking but whats the use if you cant use it properly. I have no faults on it's CD facility though and it gave a nice display displaying title, track, artist etc
