Advantages: Compact, Good sound

Disadvantages: Single tape, Single CD

I bought the Sony CMT CPX11 for the following reasons:
It is compact
It's a Sony - I've always had good service from Sony products
It was at the right price
It sounds great
It is not too ostentatious

The main unit has a single cassette tape, an FM/AM tuner and a single
CD. There are few controls, but amongst them are Bass and Treble
knobs and a 'Dynamic Sond Generator X-tra' switch which seems to act
like the 'Loudness' control on an older HiFi. The speakers are of the
bass-reflex type and handle the output of what is Sony's entry level
S-master amplifier pretty well (about 75W per channel).
The unit comes with a useful remote control, and can be connected to
other devices such as a MiniDisc or DVD and has an optical output.
At under £200, it sounds better than other HiFis I demo-ed costing
£300.
