After my last micro system failed on me, I went in search for a new one. My biggest issue was finding a system that was compact yet still produced great sound quality. I sampled quite a few before settling on this one.
The biggest issue with other units was that they either distorted with high volume, or with high bass levels. I also noted they're CD insertion/ejection mechanism appeared flimsy and not very robust. This is where this one out shined the rest. It feels like a quality product with heavy duty components. It has 2x75 watt speakers which are of superb quality, and I find that I don't need to use the full volume capability of the system.
I know nowadays that tape players are something from the Jurassic period, but this system has one hidden away behind the display screen so that people don't see that retro cassette look. A great feature though, is its mp3 connection which allows me to link my ipod up to it however, its not a docking station, and doesn't let you control the mp3 player through the system itself.
Aesthetically, I quite like the look of it, but I think there are other systems on the market that have sleeker lines, especially some of the new mp3 docking stations. Saying that, its solidly built and more than makes up for it in sound quality.
One of the draw backs for me is the depth of the unit. Approximately 28cm. This makes it quite difficult to fit on some units, shelves etc. Another factor that might put people off is the price. Its definitely one of the most expensive products in its category but trust me, if you part with your money, you shouldn't be disappointed with this product.
