      Wonderful smaller hi-fi

I have had this stereo for over 5 years now. At first i was unsure about buying a mini hi-fi from technics as i have their full size hi-fi and thought they specilise in only full size items. When i got it i was quite happy with the packaging which you would expect from a manufactor like them. I unpacked the hi-fi,read the very good instrctions and set it up. I also connected it to my tv and sky box. I truned it on and loved the look of the graphics and colors used. I put a music channel on my sky box and put the dvd input on which gave me the sound i wanted. The sound quality was fantastic. The films i tried also were fantastic. The bass is wonderful when watching action films. The depth of sound is pure clean sounds. The different settings that you can use with the sound processer are quite alot. You really can customise the quality of sound you want which something you expect from Technics. The quality and feel from the speakers are very good. The whole feel of the hi-fi is very good. I have been using it for quite a number of years and No problems at all. The speakers are still producing beautiful sound with wonderfull bass and clarity. This mini hi-fi from Technics is a very good buy which will give you many years of great sounds.

A brilliant unit with features to keep you entertained for ever.

I bought one of these units a number of years ago, at a significantly higher cost than they are available now, and have been nothing but impressed with it ever since. Technics are the specialist arm of Panasonic, so you know straight away that any of their products are going to be high quality. This unit is easy to set-up - all of the different plugs and inputs / outputs on the back of the main unit are clearly labelled, so you can set it up without having to read the manuals. The unit I have is a 5 disc CD / DVD changer. The DVD changer bit is very handy as you can run your TV through it and use this to play DVD's. The sound quality is excellent - there is a built in amplifier which powers the surround sound speaks and the 2 subwoofers which are within the speakers. Overall there are 5 speakers including the surround sound, and the sound quality is excellent, even at the highest volumes. The system comes with a control unit where you can save all sorts of different settings for how you want the sound to come out, either based on where you are in the room or what you are watching / listening to. This is in addition to the default settings which are saved within the control unit. Overall this is a brilliant system, and as an audio novice I'm probably not even scratching the surface in terms of what it is capable of. I'm not sure if newer models do, but my only complaint would be there is no iPod / MP3 link up on the unit I have, but Like I say, mine is a few years old so this may have changed. If you're looking for a new stereo, this is definitely one of the best out there.
