Advantages: Excellent sound quality, Real solid wood spkears, Easy to use
Disadvantages: Reliability was an issue at later stage
This was long time ago. i.e. 8 years ago. When laptops were too costly and mobile phone with polyphonic ring-tone were novelty. That was an era for walkman and hi-fi.
Now-a-days I listen to internet radio and FM + MP3 on my mobile. If I need better quality music then I turn on my laptop with attached speakers. Really spoiled for choices..
So, then I decided to buy good quality hi-fi and liked this one straight away. Its simple looks, better specifications and competitive price were the real factors I considered.
Purchase :
=======
I bought mine for £105 from comet.
Looks :
====
It was nice light blue color, different from the ugly dark blue shown in the picture above in product specification. The LCD display had blue back-light. Speakers were made from real solid wood instead of cheap plastic, and had detachable cover on top of woofers. Remote was simple and easy to use.
Spec:
====
- 2x15w speakers
- Optical In-Output
- Facility to record into cassette from CD
- AM/FM radio with 40 preset
- Cassette Player
- Top Loading CD Player
Experience:
========
I still remember the excellent sound quality flowing through its real wood speakers. FM reception was very good with external antena provided. Bass / Treble everything was perfect. There were 4 different sound setting depending on mood. No manual equiliser though.
I still miss those qualities in today's substandard mp3 players, laptop speakers and mobile phone FM output.
END:
===
After 2 years of heavy use (abuse) in shared accomodation, it finally gave up. It developed its own mind and used to change mode, sound, FM stations automatically and continuously, thus became useless. and ended up in the bin finally.
Summary: Very good hi-fi system.
