      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Save yourself £80 and buy a cheap one from Argos.

I fell into a similar trap as most new parents do, of associating price with quality. I assumed that as I was paying upwards of £100 for a high chair, that I would be getting something that both works well and makes life easier. It turns out that this item falls short on both of those points, and I'm £100 down.

      ==Quality 6/10==

The frame of this chair is sturdy enough, and the sliding features are made of solid plastic. The chair cover is made of vinyl, with various designs to choose from and the tray is an easy-clean white plastic. Although the unit is on the large side, it looks nice enough.

      ==Safety 8/10==

You can't fault this for safety. The sturdy build and strong materials are apparent, and the straps (although a little cheap looking) do a good job of holding the little one in place.

      ==Ease of use 2/10==

This is where it falls short, because I found this to be a terrible high chair to use. Firstly, the high chair is just too big and takes up too much room. Collapsing it is difficult, so a majority of the time I just had to shove it in another room with the door closed. In terms of cleaning it, its dreadful. The vinyl chair cover clips off for easy cleaning, but there are too many nooks and crannies between the plastic base and cover for food and other slops to get in, meaning what would usually be a simple wipe down turns into a ten minute tustle after every meal. The one positive is that the tray slide off easily enough via a small handle underneath.

I'm pleased, after a few months of using this, that I traded it in for a £15 one from a local ASDA.

      GOOD APPERANCE

I brought this chair for my son who is now 9 months old.I have only started using it recently as he took his time in sitting up unsupported and I didn't want to put him in the chair up until then.I brought this high chair for £100 as I liked it's design and functions. The best part for me is the fact that it has adjustable height settings to suit your baby as he gets older aswell as wheels for easy movement around the room. One downside about the wheels is that they don't revolve 360 degrees so you can only push the chair in a straight forward or backward position however that is not such a major issue. The recline function I find a little stiff when using but as my son is now 9 months old it doesn't really apply to him as I would not let him doze off in his chair. The appearance and design is it's selling point as it looks good to the naked eye.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A very useful well designed high chair.

There is so much choice of high chairs on the market that it is worth shopping around not only to get the best price but also to decide on what you want your high chair to do. I never thought I'd get exactly what I wanted from a highchair but this one really does seem to do it all!

      Design.
The Mamas and Papas Prima Pappa Baby high chair comes in a variety of different patterns to suit all tastes. The standard frame made of plastic and aluminum and is very sturdy to maneuver around but fairly heavy to carry. It has two locking wheels at the back and two stable ones (they do not move) at the front.

      Features.
This highchair is absolutely packed with features. The seat is large and heavily padded and looks incredibly comfortable. The seat has a 5 point harness for additional safety and folding down foot support. The seat must be comfortable as it reclines into three positions for post breakfast/lunch/dinner naps!! This is a very useful function as I do not have to transfer my daughter if she becomes sleepy whilst sitting in the chair after lunch!

The chair is height adjustable which was a really important feature for me so that my daughter can feel part of the family unit during food preparation or other activities that go on in my kitchen or dining room. The multiple height adjustments mean she can sit in the high chair at my breakfast bar and dining table- both of which are different heights.

Another important feature is that the high chair is foldable with or without the trays, my kitchen is fairly compact and we are limited for space so it is pretty easy to fold away when I need more room. The highchair comes with two trays, one for feeding and one for playing on. The play tray just pops on the top of the feeding tray and is very easy to clean. The feeding tray is a fraction harder to clean only because it has the mechanics to detach it from the chair underneath and my daughter is a very messy eater!! As already mentioned the high chair trays are detachable which makes it a lot easier popping your child in and out of the high chair.

The wheels are anti-scratch so work hard to protect your floors if you're like me and move the high chair around from room to room which is great.

A final advantage of all these features is that you can safely put your child in it from the age of four months to about three years. My daughter loved sitting in it watching me eat my lunch at four months whereas some others on the market advise you to use them from six months, so this was a bonus for me.

      Overall.
The highchair is fairly easy to clean and I would say my daughter likes to get stuck into her food!! Although there is quite a lot to remember at first about how to recline, adjust the height, fold, lock wheels etc once you get the hang of it it becomes second nature and easy to do. I love the two detachable trays, they are large in size and can be attached to the highchair and it can still be folded. Compared to the rest of the market the highchair is fairly pricey but you do get a lot of really useful features for your money.

I would definitely recommend this high chair to a friend.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Don't be seduced by the name (I think I was, sadly) - check out other brands too

      Positives:
      - This high chair is robust and reclines, which is useful for a baby from about 5 months old
      - It's also good for drawing/colouring time, as the table is quite big
      - It folds up well and doesn't take up too much room, if you take the table off

      Negatives:
      - The gap between the table and baby/toddler is FAR too big! I always have to put a tea towel on my son's lap, which is a pain, as food invariably drops down the gap and I have to do more cleaning. In retrospect, I would've bought something where the table comes much closer in to the child
      - It is hard to clean the little nooks and crannies
      - Replacement seat covers are also ridiculously expensive - it's almost worth buying them on eBay from the USA!

All in all, it's a decent chair, but I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known about the big gap between table and baby.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Overall, a great high chair if you can afford it

When we originally were looking for a high chair a few years back now we searched around and couldn't decide initially which one to go for and how much to spend. Should we go for a cheap one that might not last or something that would last but was a bit more expensive? The choice can be quite daunting when starting your search. In the end we plumped for this Mamas and Papas high chair as we liked the look of it but it was about £100 which seemed a lot. However, from experience now this is still going strong and I can recommend it if you can afford that sort of price which is not for everyone.

The thing that appealed to me when buying this and I maintain to this day is that this high chair is sturdy and very well made. It has never looked like collapsing and is very safe. Also, it is very comfortable too with the padded head rest and seat which is all important for your child. You don't want them to be hating it every time you put them in it for food and them trying to get out of it. Plus, Mamas and Papas have always struck me as reliable too.

Another plus feature of this high chair is the ease it takes to assemble and then fold up for easy storage when you're not using it. It doesn't really take up too much room so doesn't clutter up your kitchen. The tray fits on easily and slides in and out making it no problem to get your child in and out.

It is easy to wipe down and clean which is another important factor when purchasing a product such as this. The tray is made of plastic and the seat covers are too. There is also a leg rest for your baby or toddler to rest his or her feet on while eating and sitting in this.

Overall, if you can afford a high chair like this then it's well worth buying as mine has lasted a number of years and is still going strong, but it might be too expensive for some and that's fair enough.

I am a foster mum and have to have robust equipment! The Mamas and Papas Prima Papa Highchair was expensive at £110, but this is a very good quality product that has survived the many little ones we have looked after, from newborns through to big toddlers. The only downsize is the cleaning, I have also spent many an hour cleaning this chair. The seat cover I have had replaced once, as they tear with all the cleaning and wear, the covers are expensive to replace at around £40-50, I am now on the hunt for yet another replacement cover if anyone knows a better price.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

It matches my dining room .... thats the best i can offer!

I honestly dont know why i spent so much money on a highchair! In the total naivity of new parents, we paid over £100 for this - which is ridiculous on a product that our child makes a total mess of within minutes.

Dont get me wrong - of all the high chairs out there this is one of the swankiest. It is all singing and all dancing. It has multi-recline features, an anatomically shaped seat, seven seat positions, two position tray, anti scratch feet and wheels, foldable structure, and a removable cover!

I used none of the above features to their capacity!

It says it can recline so you dont disturb a sleeping child... but my child eats in their haigh chair - not sleeps. Pointless feature!
      Seven seat positions - why?
Anti scratch wheels and feet - its on a dining room carpet!
Anaomically shaped seat - my daughter eats in minutes, she isnt in it long enough to notice anatomical benefits.
Removable cover - id like to see anyone attempt that, its practically screwed it!

The only thing i did like about this that the average £30 argos high chair didnt have was the 5 point harness, when my daughter was little that was helpful - but not worth the extra £80 that we paid over my mums £30 version!

This high chair may seem like the ferrari of eating experiences - but believe me, when its caked in fish pie that your struggling to chisel off, and you realise that youve never used any of the features you will really resent that youve paid it!

      Save yourself some money.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Not bad if you are keeping it in one place

This is a good highchair for young babies, however although it is claimed by mamas and papas that this highchair can be used from the age of 4 months, I would recommend that parents wait until a baby is about 5 months and the baby is able to sit up without too much help.

I found that when my daughter was very young it was difficult to make the straps properly restrain her and for this reason i stopped using it and waited until she was better able to support herself.

The wheels are a great help if you need to transport the highchair, however they do not work very well over carpeted areas and this highchair is VERY heavy considering what it is. I had to carry my highchair from room to room and this was a real challenge.

This highchair is very well padded for maximum comfort so you can be assured that your little one is comfortable and the seat and tray area are very easy to clean.

Unfortunately though there is no basket which can be really handy to place some of your babies feeding equipment.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

An excellent highchair - I'd recommend this to anyone.

I bought the Prima Pappa High Chair for my eldest daughter in 2004 and I now use it for my youngest, now that she is weaning. I'm a big fan of Mamas and papas products and this item did not disappoint.

This highchair has 7 height positions, so you can adjust it to suit your dining table, allowing your baby or toddler to join the rest of the family at meal times. There is also a 4 position recline on it, so if your little one falls asleep in her dinner you can simply recline the seat back and let her have a snooze! It's also excellent if your baby isn't quite up to sitting up by herself, you can recline it slightly, so they aren't slumping to one side. The seat cover is made of pvc and so is easily cleaned with a damp cloth, it has lovely padding in it, so baby is nicely cushioned - my little ones always looked comfy in it and were happy to sit for prolonged periods, playing, whilst I got on with chores around them.

It has a removable tray, which clips off the main tray. The main tray is removed by squeezing the handle at the front of the tray then lining up the 2 'prongs' into the holes in the front of the chair and sliding them in. The 'eating tray' which has a section for the child to place their cup, clips off the main tray and can be easily cleaned. The under section is a large area for the baby to play with their toys.

For safety this highchair has a 5 point, adjustable harness and a crotch removable crotch post. I particularly like this feature as, when my daughter was still quite young and not totally able to sit unaided, she would slide down in other highchairs. The post can be removed as your child gets older, but I never bothered, as the seat base is large enough to comfortably accommodate a 3 year old.

Storage is excellent as it folds up reasonably flat. The folding action is very easy - with your foot, at the bottom of the frame, you slide the safety catch to the left, pushing the small pedal down - you bring the front and back sections together as it folds up. There is then a catch that will hold it together. To unfold it, you simply push down the catch on the back right leg and it will unfold itself and you will hear the click as the bar at the bottom locks into place. It's very easy and both opening and closing can be done one handed. The tray can be left on for storage but is a little awkward to do, so I leave mine off and store it behind the chair. If you want to leave the tray on, you need to squeeze the handle under the tray and bring it half way out, you then have to push down the 'sliders' 1 & 2 at the front, which releases the hinged tray holders, you can then push the tray up so that it lies flat against the chair.

My model has 4 wheels, the hind 2 being lockable but looking at the new models on the Mamas & Pappas website they now have only 2 wheels at the back.

I really like this highchair, though there are a couple of minuses to it. My biggest complaint is that the waist strap isn't removable, so you have to do your best with cleaning it with a cloth or sponge (the 2 shoulder straps and the crotch strap are removable, so I put them in the washing machine on a cool wash or handwash them in the sink). The other thing is that it's slightly heavy, though with it having wheels it's still easy to manouver, so this is only a very minor complaint.

My highchair has had LOTS of use and now needs a new cover as mine has split down the seam on the left hand side. I have bought a new seat cover from the spares department at Mamas and Papas (you can get the details from their website - www.mamasandpapas.co.uk - scroll to the bottom of the page, the spares department details are in the 'shopping online' section.) I think I paid £35 + p&p for mine, which I personally thought was quite expensive, though still cheaper than a new highchair.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Very good high chair that does everything I want it to while being an attractive design.

We have this highchair for our son and it has been an excellent buy for us. The highchair has the main features that we wanted adjustable height and a seat that can recline. We first put our son in this when he was just 4 months with the seat fully reclined and he sat in it very happily.

The seat is easy to clean but as with most padded seats there are lots of nooks and crannies to get into but i find going over it with a wipe after each meal prevents build up.

The design is really nice and it is really easy to fold down after each use, our house isn't big but we found folding it up and storing it behind the sofa was the best idea for us.

The only negative was that we found it really difficult to put it up the first time, as it was a gift and we didn't get shown in the shop how to do it. The instructions are clear but it just didn't seem to make any sense at the time and we didn't want to push too hard just incase we broke it!

All in all the best feature is the recline if my son gets drowsy there is no need to lift him, i can just recline the seat and let him drift off.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Highly recommended!

We borrowed a friend's high chair before we bought our own. It was the Prima Pappa high chair from Mamas and Papas. I have nothing but good things to say about it.

It costs a bit over £110 to buy, which seems very expensive but most high chairs are expensive and it is sturdy and well made. Also Mamas and Papas is a good reliable make that does seem to charge a little more than others brands across their range of baby products.

It is very easy to put up and put back down again. We left it up in the kitchen but if you are short of space, it would be a great high chair to have, as it is so easy to collapse.

There is an extra tray, which means it is easy to clean and replace. It is also nice and high so if you have a younger baby, the tray is easy for them to reach, which is great for introducing finger foods.

It was easy to wipe clean. Although there are a few places where the food seemed to get stuck and be harder to clean. We managed though and for a plastic high chair, this seems to be a common problem.

What I liked best about this high chair was that is it very padded and my son looked very comfortable in it. In wooden high chairs he tended to slip down when he was younger and did not have such strong upper body control.

A bit expensive for us but if you can afford it, well worth the money! Docking a star for price though as it is out of our affordability range!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A worthwhile investment - but buy the best cleaner you can as well.

As we started weaning our son, the great high chair hunt started. I wanted something comfy, but my partner wanted something that could be height adjusted. On a shopping trip with my parents, we came across the Prima Pappa Evo, and we were impressed.

At £120, the high chair was a lot more expensive than other highchairs we'd considered, but the design and functionality won us over.

the highchair is height adjustable, which has come in very useful as we switch between eating on the sofa and at the dining table. The reclining function came in very useful while my son was learning to drink from a cup, as he often couldn't lift his cup high enough on his own to start with.

The tray is removable, with an extra tray on top of that. We use one for our son to play on while we're cooking, and then put the other tray on top afterwards. With the whole tray removed, we've found we can have the high chair right up against the table, without the barrier of a tray, something our son prefers now that he is a year old, as it means he can interact with us easier. The five point harness is removable, which make it easier to clean (and believe me, that's needed after a 6 month old's first taste of carrot purée).

Unfortunatly, with the design, there seem to be plenty of nooks and crannies for purees and porridge to get stuck in, and with these areas being so small, they're not easy to clean.

The highchair folds up both easily and compact, so in our small flat, we can always find somewhere to put it.

On a whole, we liked this highchair so much that when we visited my parents in Cyprus, they hired one for the duration of our stay.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          A very high quality item

The Prima Pappa highchair is a really comfortable and well made highchair.
We bought this for our grandaughter and it cost about £125 so it's quite expensive. Our one is sort of white with coloured balls but it does look quite nice.
It is sturdy and well made whilst still being very light, which makes it easy to move about while trying to deal with a baby at the same time.
It has a great seat that supports smaller babies really well, even when they aren't able to sit alone and the table is really good as it holds quite a bit and it is easy to clean. The chair folds and unfolds quite easily and this can be done with one hand while holding the baby in the other.
I think it's a great chair and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again but it is so well made that i don't think we will need to buy another as it will last forever. C'mon kids, wheres the next grandchild.

Eat in comfort with the Prima Pappa

A really comfortable High Chair and Excellent Quality as always from Mamas and Papas.

I love all of the Mamas and Papas baby products so I when looking for a highchair for my little boy I went straight to M&P.

The prima pappa is available in around 4/5 different designs, we have the Bears and Buds which is white with small animals on it.

The highchair seat is really padded and looks very comfortable for your baby, it has 5 different height adjustments and 3 reclines.

The tray on the highchairis a really good size and it has a cup holder which my baby loves to make sure his cup sits in the holder. And I love the fact that you can remove the top tray to clean and there is still another tray underneath.

I paid around £100 for this Highchair from my local Mamas and Papas shop but a lot of large department stores also sell this highchair.

I have recently acquired a Prima Pappa High Chair from a friend, as the high chair we bought was awful!!. I had to use a socket set to undo the straps to clean them, which was'nt too bad... I also have a steam cleaner which has a concentrator nozzle, which I used on the chair itself to clean all the hard to reach places!!. I love this high chair, because of the height adjustment, and the reclining feature, which means I can recline it when my 1 year old gets sleepy after a feed!!.
