“ Brand: Mothercare / Type: Highchairs „
We bought this highchair almost 2 weeks ago now, when my 5 month old daughter cleverly mastered sitting up early! Up until now she had been quite happy sitting in her bouncy chair eating and bouncing away quite happily, then boom, "I can sit up mummy!!" and the placid little baby who lay quite happily being spooned various varieties of pureed carrot and parsnip decided to lean forward into her dinner bowl at every possible opportunity! At first I was quite interested in getting one of the bigger highchairs, the ones with the muti-position seat for babies from 4months and the multi-position trays to boot (you know the ones!), sure enough these are great and can be very handy if you have a spare £100plus but I got to thinking would it be right for us....hmm - well Mia had already decided she was strong enough to sit unaided for a good few minutes at a time, having the support of a 'normal' highchair (albeit with one of those padded insert seats you get from mothercare) would more than be enough so she was ok on that point... We got to Mothercare and saw this highchair immediately, I noticed all the others (oh except the £100 plus ones!) were bluey or 'masculine' in some sense or other, apart from this one. The main colours are a zingy lemon and lime (which are suitable for either a boy or a girl although there is also a 'blue' version of the same highchair with cute little dinosaurs all over the seat), with the seat being checks and the tray being lime, it was priced at only £29.99! (hey that rhymes woohoo!) It folds completely flat for storage, which is very handy when your short on room in the kitchen like us! The seat unit is well padded and completely pvc so although you can't remove it like some it is completely wipe clean and the bit I am in great admiration over! it has a fitted 5-point harness (stops all escapisms!!!) The seat height on this highchair is 58cm so it is ideal for sitting down for
feeding as your on the same level as your baby then! The overall size is 100 x 56 x 73cm and once folded it is 122 x 56 x 21cm with a weight of just 5.4kg so it is really compact and also very light for any transportation although very sturdy with a strong metal frame which in my opinion makes this suitable from 5/6months upto a lively toddler! Another thing that made this a great highchair for my daughter was the fact that although theres plenty of room for her to grow the tray is close enough for her not to look lost in it, due to the rounded tray it comes all the way around without looking too large, this is also handy for preventing everything flying onto the floor when baby reaches the throwing stage! Now folding and unfolding is as simple as me writing the words, ok well almost! To fold the chair theres is a small press-stud fastening that secures the tray (along with two clips) to the metal frame of the highchair, this unclips and with a little pressure the tray lifts off, pushing the front legs back leaves the tray free to be pushed down, thus the flat position, for putting it back up reverse the actions, simple! All in all I would definitely recommend this highchair, granted there will always be bigger and better, but if your looking for a highchair just for being a highchair then this is for you!
The Miami highchair is perfect from what I can tell. It folds up and down easily and when it's folded, it can easily slip behind a sofa or likewise. It's very reaosnably priced compared to others in its field - espcially compared to brand name products like the Chicco or Mamas and Papas highchairs. It comes in a choice of colours- a greeny checkered one (I'm supposing the 'girly' version) and a nice bright blue on with dinosaurs (possibly aimed at boys?). On the whole, there's nothing to complain about this highchair. It's very safe and durable, easy to clean and basically, you could really ask for much more at the price you pay!
Features include a comfortably padded, wipe-clean PVC seat; a fixed easy-clean tray; a fixed easy-clean tray and a 5-point safety harness.
