... time. The hob heats up extremely quickly and is almost comparable to gas in terms of speed with which pans get heated up which we were particularly impressed with. It is important to note that as far as we know and from simple observation, the John Lewis hobs are made by AEG and are also sold under the AEG brand at almost twice the price. When we were deciding on the components with which to equip our kitchen, choosing the hob proved to be more difficult than we thought. We picked the John Lewis electric hob for a variety of reasons. Firstly, it obviously has the slick look. The hob is completely flat and glossy. The edges smooth down towards the worktop surface and the keys are activated by touch. The design looks great on paper, but we have noticed that over time the hob gets scratched a fair amount.
